When purchasing a condo, it is just as important to have an inspection as it is if you’re buying a single-family home. Even though there is typically less maintenance and responsibility of the individual owners as the HOA typically own the exterior, roof and grounds including swimming pools, condos can still experience a lot of the same issues that single family homes experience. Including issues with HVAC, plumbing and electrical issues.
During a condo inspection Wise Move Home Inspections will still inspect the electrical system including the distribution panel, outlets and checking that there are working GFCI’s in areas where required.
We also check the Air Conditioning system including the air handler and when applicable and access can be gained the compressor.
We check the plumbing system including the water heater, plumbing fixtures, sinks, showers, bathtubs and toilets. If there is a washer and dryer these will also be inspected and run
All kitchen appliances will be checked to make sure they are in working order as well the cabinets and counter tops.
Using both moisture meters and thermal imaging cameras we inspect for moisture intrusion.
All accessible windows and doors will be operated .
The condition of the floor covering will also be in the report.
